Fabrication Capabilities
Acrylic (PMMA) Fabrication
Acrylic — PMMA, sold under brand names such as Plexiglas® and often spelled plexiglass — is the clear sheet behind display cases, retail fixtures, signage faces and light diffusers, and it rewards careful handling. It is brittle at the cutter: it chips and cracks rather than smearing, so it is cut and routed with sharp tooling, high speed and a steady, moderate feed. It will also flame-polish to a clear, glossy edge, which is why it is the usual choice when an exposed edge has to look finished.
We fabricate acrylic sheet up to 96" x 48" and 4" thick, from a single piece to production quantities: cutting, routing, drilling, bending and forming, and solvent or adhesive bonding. Acrylic holds internal stress from forming and machining and crazes when solvent reaches a stressed edge, so bonded joints need clean, machined, stress-free edges — the two guides below cover how to bend it and how to glue it.
